1. Scar | 2005
There was a great deal of thread leftover in this piece of buckram from my earliest experiments with embroidery. Slowly, the image of a scar that was to mark my childhood emerged from it.

2. Embroidering in silence | 2009–16
To make my own what I received as an inheritance—a linen tablecloth set from my parents’ wedding trousseau—, I began to cover its printwork in free embroidery that I created along with relatives and friends who contributed to the making of this work.
